Ministry Inspection, Langley

On Friday we had our scheduled school inspection by Theo M. VandeWeg, Inspector of Independent Schools.  Véronique did an excellent job of going through the binders of policies, learning outcomes, staff credentials, safety procedures and a hundred questions that ensure we continue to qualify as a Class 1 school.  I’m proud to say we came through with flying colours!  Even more, the inspector encouraged us to contact other Montessori schools to collaborate on assessment accountability, patterned around Roots and Wings’ unique progress charts system.  Big smiles and high fives after he left.

Got Housing?

Accommodation wanted:  new staff members are in the wings for our teaching staff, who seek accommodation in the Langley area, as close to the school as possible.  If anyone knows of a 2-3 bedroom home for rent, please let us know.

Nepal Earthquake Relief

From our school pledge:

…so that all people can live with dignity, in good health and in peace

I know many of you are members of Avaaz, a very effective NGO for world change.  Here is a message from them in response to a donation to Nepal:  I encourage you to click on the link and donate what you are able for our fellow citizens in Nepal.

Thank you for pledging to provide desperately needed support for the people of Nepal. Avaaz.org is an independent non-profit organisation that receives no money from governments or corporations, so your donation is crucial to our work — and very much appreciated. Please help us to spread the word and send the following link to friends: https://secure.avaaz.org/en/nepal_earthquake_sl1/?dty Best wishes, The Avaaz Team
