Percussion and Salmons – All in the same week!

Forest school every day; we mean it! Despite our record amount of rainfall for the past month, our children have been outside at the start and middle of every day, enjoying great wake-up daily exercise, appreciation of our wonderful natural environment, and  an enjoyable social start to each day.  All that, and yoga too!  You’d be impressed by how limber everyone is getting!

Our field trip to the Orpheum to listen to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s program on percussion was enjoyed by all – a great introduction to our further exploration of percussion, and leading into First Nations music.

And we took a spontaneous field trip to Semiahmoo Fish and Game Club to see the salmons returning to spawn.  The students realized these are the salmon from two years ago, not the ones we released last year.  Great excitement!
