Roots and Wings Infant/Toddler program  is now open at Sullivan Sqaure #101-15295 56 AVE, Surrey, B.C.

We are looking for qualified Infant/Toddler Educators who have a passion for working with young children, those who are hard workers, team players, those who take initiative, can work alone at times, interact with children in a respectful, responsive and reciprocal way, and use Developmentally Appropriate Practice.

Job Description:

-          Work rotating shifts between opening and closing of the center

-          Commit to 40 hours per week of work, Monday to Friday

-          Center set up /take down

-          Plan and implement Developmentally Appropriate Practice

-          Provide quality and respectful care to infants and toddlers

-          Be familiar with play-based approach

-          Understanding of Montessori an asset

-          Communication with parents each day. Parents are viewed as partners.

-          Work with staff as a team using effective communication skills

-          Strong English skills required, both verbal and written. A second language is an asset.

-          Advocate for the Rights of the Child.

-          Show an understanding and knowledge of children’s developmental stages

-          Understanding of documentation process in order to learn about the child and to keep records clear and concise.

Qualifications:

-          Infant/Toddler License to Practice required

-          Minimum one year experience working with infants and toddlers

-          First Aid Certificate

-          Medical Clearance – physically, emotionally and mentally fit to work with children

-          Criminal Record Search

-          Copy of Immunization history

-          Food safe an asset but not required

Pay Scale:

Determined upon Education level and years of experience in the field
